The Simpsons Movie

The Simpsons Movie came out on 26th of July, 2007. I think it was a great movie and was worth my money.

Green Day is performing at Lake Springfield, where they start talking about the environment and all the fans get irritated. Greenday were killed when the pollution in the lake as it eats away their vessel, causing it to sink. At the funeral, Grampa Simpsons has a vision of a bad fate for Springfield, but only Marge listens. Lisa and an Irish boy named Colin hold a seminar called "An Irritating Truth", which convinces the town to clean up the lake. Homer dares Bart to skateboard nude to Krusty Burger, but Bart is caught by Chief Wiggum. Ned Flanders is nice to Bart after he was humiliated but Homer doesn't care and adopts a pig. Homer kept the pig's waste in a silo, which Marge tells Homer to get rid of. When Homer waiting in line at the dump, Lenny, Homer's friend calls him to tell him that they are giving away free donuts so Homer decides to do the quicker thing and dumps the silo into the lake, which makes the pollution to be at an all-time high. Flanders and Bart go on a hiking trip and discover a mutated squirrel, which is captured by the EPA. Russ Cargill, head of the EPA, tells President Schwarzenegger that Springfield is very polluted and the government must take extreme action, so the EPA places Springfield in a giant glass dome. An angry mob burns down the Simpsons' house, and tries to kill Homer, but when Maggie discovers a hole from their sandpit to the outside, they run off. Homer wins a car to get around faster from a motorbiking dome. However, the EPA is looking for them so they escape to Alaska. When they get word that Springfield is going to be bombed and destoryed, Marge and the kids go back, leaving Homer behind because he doesn't want to go back to be killed. Eventurly, he does go back with the persuasion of an Indian only to realize that the EPA has caught his family and put them back in Springfield. Homer goes back inside the dome too, and with his motorbiking skills to ride up the top of the dome with the bomb and threw it outside, smashing the glass dome into pieces and freeing the Springfield residents.

The movie featured the band Greenday at the start, and in one scene features over 320 characters. Before its release, the movie received a nomination in the category "Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet" at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards, but it lost to Transformers. The movie's trailer won a Golden Trailer Award in the category "Best Animated/Family Film Trailer" at the 8th Annual Golden Trailer Awards.
The movie took 6 years to make, as the creators had many ideas and couldn't decide what to do at first. "Two film's worth" of material was cut in the end.

My [boring] Holidays

My school holidays were one of the most boring ones I've ever had! The first week I did absoloutely nothing, and I mean absoloutely nothing! I just sat at home, watched TV, went to the local park a few times and went on the computer for MSN and downloading music.

I was bored out of mu skull! And to make things worse, at night time from 7pm to about 10pm my brother, my dad and my mum would be watching the Asian Cup (soccer). The word BORING comes to mind! On the second week, on Thursday, it was my friend's birthday party and we saw Harry Potter 5 the movie. I didn't really like it, but I wasn't going to say that in front of her. I may have had a bad holiday but I haven't forgotten my manners. That day something good happened though. Because it was raining and we were at an open space in the shopping centre, we walked into a Timezone and I played a skilltester. The prize was either a light blue, dark blue or pink whale toy which was actually quite big. I won on my fourth shot, but it didn't seem 100% worth it at the time because I spent $8 on a toy, yet one of my friends won a flip mobile phone, yes MOBILE PHONE for $3 there about a week before.

When we were walking out, 3 of my friends and I realised that the other 5 had walked out on us a good 10 minutes ago! So we looked around for them and when we met up, then walked off again, and again, and again. So eventurely the person who was hosting the party said "Do you want to split up into groups?". That really offended me and my friends, because if she wanted to split up she didn't want us around, and if she didn't want us around, why did she invite us to her birthday party? in the end we stuck together because we didn't want to leave them so we just tagged along with them, Then 3 of us went to the car park to check out the weather, which was very, very rainy now. We came back up and they were gone AGAIN! We didn't bother looking for them this time, we just went back to the Timezone to have another play.

When we arrived there, 2 people from the radio station Nova 93.7 were there. We walked over to have a closer look at the equipment they had, and they asked if we wanted to go on the radio! Of course we said yes, so they told us what they were going to do. The plan was we were going to pretend to run in the rain and grab Prince's new CD because that's what they were advertising. We actually did run out into the rain, just for the fun of it and came back. One of the radio guys was holding my whale toy and it was so hilarious because he kept on playing with its fin. After that, they told us that we actually did win the CDs, and they'd be mailed to us. That was really great because we id basically nothing for them. Being on the radio for 5 seconds, just screaming our heads off kind of did turn around my day.

On Sunday, me and my dad went to a museum displaying acient Ejyptian artefacts. We took public transportation there because our car was in for service. First we took the bus, and as silly as it seems, I'm terrified of riding buses! I'm scared that I might fly out of my seat through the window, or when we turn the bus is going to up end itself, and stuff like that. Thankfully it was only from the bottom of my street to the train station. We got on the train after a horrible bus ride, and the train was alot smoother. To pass the time i was playing a game on my dad's mobile. The classical brick game turned out to be pretty fun. When we got there the museum was across the road from the station, so that was convenient. It was a huge building, made out of glass and steel. It was shaped like a roundish rectangle with a point on the top left corner. when we went in the first thing I saw, besides the souvenir shop, was the line! It took us half an hour to get through the line, and that was murder on my legs. When that ordeal was over, we finally got inside. When we were there we saw painting, coffins, statues, figurines, and more stuff along those lines. It was very interesting there, and even better when there was a chair.
After that we went on the second floor and there was just paintings, nothing from acient Ejypt. One of the was pure black with a pinstripe white border! It was pretty pointless and to think that one particular painting could make it to a museum, it made me feel as if I could be a painter!

Harry Potter.

Today I am going to talk about Harry Potter And The Order Of The Pheonix the movie and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows the book.

First of all, the movie.

Of course with the recent release of the book Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Harry Potter 5 the movie wont be the biggest recent thing in the Harry Potter series. But I'm still going to talk about it.

I have seen 4 of the Harry Potter movies and to be completely honest, that was the worst of all! I haven't read the book, seeing as I was a young to understand the difficult words when it came out, but the movie turned me away from even doing it at all! Basically it was just Harry being attacked Dementers at the start, than everybody waiting for Voldemort, or "he who must not be named" and when he came they had a 5 minute fight, then Harry's godfather gets killed for no apparent reason. Of course there was the arrival of the new teacher that stopped them from learning combat, but that was kind of irrelevant, because they wouldn't be learning moves like stun and other things like that in their 5th year at Hogwarts anyway. The special effects however were fairly good. The cinema was alot less full then I would have imagined would be on the third day after its release. I would not reccomend it as a must-see movie.

I think most people out there have a very different opinion on the movie, so let me know what you think, whether you agree with me, or if you think I must have been sitting the wrong way in the cinema and watching the wall for 2 hours. Comment me!

There has been alot of questions about Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, but all of them have been answered in the book. Who dies? Does Harry live? What fate does Voldemort have? Will Hogwarts ever be at peace? In my understanding there are three ways to find out the answers to all of these questions. A, read the book. B, get a friend to tell you how it finishes. C, look it up on Google. I am currenting reading Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows and I am up to about page 75 or so. It's not that I am an incredibly slow reader, I just have been busy for the past couple of days and I have had holiday homework (it was SO boring). I plan on reading alot more during school time and in the afternoons. The book so far has been really good. I would tell you what has happened, but I dont want to spoil the surprise, although it's nothing exciting. Nobody has died yet, we'll just have to read on for now. And if you have read the book, don't comment me to tell me who dies. I already know, one of my friends told me. :P Just dont spoil it for everybody else.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows...

It has just occured to me, that this blog is no longer about what made me mad. It's about the weather, fire drills and mythical books! Well, please do read

Alright, so I know this will be a short post be a short post because nobody has read the book, but I'll do my best! :]

A lot of people are saying, seeing as it's the last book, that Harry, Hermoine, Ron or Voldemort are going to be killed somehow.
I think that'd be right, but we're all going to have to wait until the 21st of July to find out! If it's anything like her other books (you all know them, whether you like them or not) we're going to be thrilled! J. K. Rowling is a great writer, so there is reason to believe we WONT be disappointed.

Yes, the books about wizardry, dragons and secret potions and just about everything else you can think of are great, and we will enjoy reading the newest one!
Also, if you're a Harry Potter fan you should go to the cinema to watch Harry Potter And The Order Of The Pheonix, or you can rent the other four movies from Video Ezy!

Bye for now, Bloggers.

The Weather Today [not updated daily]

--------2ND JULY--------

Hello again, all bloggers.
Today I'm home from school today because I'm sick. I decided to make better use of this time, so I decided to do something that doesn't involve staring at the wall for the next few hours like a dog would at a steak.

I found it a little hard to find a topic to type about, so I looked out my window for inspiration... Then an impressive fleet of rain drops poured down, blocking my view of the ocean that I get from my computer desk. Then it hit me, THE WEATHER! So, here I am, blogging to you about the weather where I live, and why it's like this.

Well, firstly it's rainy and extremely windy. The rain is going on and off throughout the day but whether it will continue, I don't know. But the clouds look pretty convincing. It's starting to clear up a little though, but not alot. I hope it rains all week, non-stop, especially at night. I don't know why, but when it rains at night, it's so much easier for me to sleep. (:

I'm suprised the weather gets so 'rainy' sometimes here, because of the hole in the ozone layer thanks to greenhouse gas. I guess it sort of works out because I live so close to the beach. Oh well. The rain is good, we need it here in Australia! =]

Well, after typing the paragraphs above, I went downstairs to take some Panadol, Nurofen and get something to eat. After that, I returned here only to realise the weather has partly cleared up! Well, if you ask me, the weather is TOTALLY unpredictable!

Well, I have to go now. Farewell bloggers, until next time!

-Sarah :]

--------3RD JULY--------

Greetings, earthlings. =]

It's Sarah again and I'm obviously, going to talk about the weather.
It hasn't changed much since yesterday, but I have noticed some things, jobs and people it affects.

Yesterday, as you all know, I stayed home from school because I was sick. It was raining and my mum had only just realised that there was some washing on the line. So out in the gust and rain, she had to run out and collect all of it. She was drenched.
Also, if you have a hot water system that works on solar energy, you wont get as much hot water. And that's especially bad for people like me who have HEAPS long showers. Another thing I noticed is when my dad came home from work at 6pm it was raining quite heavily. My dad works in the city and leaves 6:30am to get to work by public transportation and a little walking. Unfortunately for him, that "little walking" was when it was raining the most all day. His socks went from light blue to navy blue!! Another thing, which I should have mentioned on Sunday, but unfortionately I didn't, is it affects people who play sport! My brother had a soccer game and all of the players were soaking wet! Also, us people watching weren't exactly dry either. When it was the end of the game, my brother literally took off his show and up-sided it and the water POURED, yep, that's right, POURED out of his shoe. Also, when my parents dont want to go out driving through the wet roads to the local shop, they send me off on my bike! My mum will say it has stopped when it's raining lightly, but it soon comes back!

When you think about it, it affects more people and daily routines than you'd imagine!

SOME Teachers.... [arrghh!]

You agree with me? Glad you think so.

If you are a student, or a worker and you dislike some of your teachers and bosses for whatever reason, trust me, you are NOT alone!

Some teachers are totally irratating! For example, my Japanese teachers always screams and cuts you off and contradicts herself. One of the relief teachers I get when my normal teacher is away for whatever reason hits me over the head with some papers or a pen when I talk. My sport teacher is really strict and never lets us make any decisions or choices that WE want!

Some characteristics of bad teachers that I know of are anti-solicialism, sarcasm, grumpiness, anger towards certain students, finds certain people un-bearable and other things along those lines.

The thing that drives most students insane is their teacher's bad habits. I have one teacher that get stuff out of her teeth with her ugly, disgusting fingernail! And another teacher that sniffes every 2 seconds! It drives me crazyyy!

Don't get me wrong, I am NOT saying all teachers are bad! Most teachers are fantastic and make the work environment a happier and cheerier place.

What do YOU think about YOUR teacher?? Is he or she so incredibly annoying you just want to scream??

Fire Drill Leaves Us In Ashes...

Riingggggggg... Riingggggggg...RIINGGGGGGGG!!!

The three sirens ring.

"LINE UP NOW!" the teacher calls.

You have to meet on the oval; but what's that you see? The fire is ON the oval? It had started by the large bushes and tree surrounding your oval?

Then where do we meet? How will we make it out alive? How will we know where to go?

Yeah, I agree!

Firedrills are great, and just a half hour ago the school had one. We met on the oval. When we have firedrills at my school we meet on the oval, too. But my question is; What if the fire is ON the oval? Isn't the plan of meeting on the oval supposed to be flawless?
I have reason to believe, no, it most certainly is NOT flawless, and if a real fire does actually come, we should all be worried, and not just for the obvious reasons.

Over night I asked my two brothers who attend high school where their fire drill was. It was on the oval. I also asked a few of my friends from my swimming club where they meet for their fire drill. They meet on the oval.

It's great that schools have fire drills so we are some-what prepared, but I just think that 'some-what' isn't good enough!

Recognition Please!! >=[

And no, I'm not talking about materialistic goods, even though they have wayyy too much money and waste their cash on that.

I'm talking about recognition, and how they're 'too perfect' to get into trouble.

You've all seen the headlines "PARIS GOES TO JAIL!" and "STEVE IRWIN; TRAGIC LOSS" but my query is, what about the other people who die and go to jail?

Firstly, Paris Hilton. She's in jail for multiple speeding tickets and drunk driving warnings. Police drew the line. But the fact is; on June 27th, she's getting out of jail! Why is that you may ask? Because she's famous, and too good to be in jail. Now, don't you agree that if that were a "normal" person he or she wouldn't be freed? Because that person isn't famous, that's why.

Secondly, I would like to talk about Steve Irwin's death. We all know it was from a stingray, and we all acknowledge it was tragic, but there's alot of people who die from sharks, stingrays, old age, people murdering others and many, many more. But the fact is, Steve Irwin got ALOT more recognition than them. About a couple of years ago, my neighbour's father had died from a car crash and the night before the house had been broken into. It seems that nobody cared! The only people who knew was the mother's family, the father's family, their 3 young boys and the people in the street. It was extremely sad, yet nobody really seemed to care. He didn't get put on the cover of every magazine. He didn't get the first page in the newspaper. He didn't get any of the things Steve Irwin got, except a funeral. Now that really annoys me, because my neighbour was a great person and deserved more than what he got.

Well, that's all I have for now. But I would like to say before finishing, that most of you bloggers out there have probably had someone close to you die, and only about 10% of them had their death's acknowledged by the public. A small article in the newspaper may not be everything you bargained for, but at least it's something and people know that whoever you were close to was a great person.

Return Of The CANE To School. [To Cane Or Not To Cane?]

Parents and teachers have refused to back a return to corporal discipline in schools after Federal Health Minister Tony Abbott suggested that some children would only behave if threatened with the cane. Mr Abbott said more discipline in schools would pretevent brutal behaviour after watching footage of a vicious attack on a Melbourne school girl. But the teachers' union and the WA Council of State School Organisations said it was innapropriate to use violence to deal with misbehaving students. Mr Abbott told Sydney radio that when corporal punishment was in use, vicious incidents did not happen. "We have gone away from that and as our teachers get gentler the kids get more brutal," he said. "What we really need is to make sure we have strong discipline in our schools because disciplined kids are much less likely to engage in this kind of nonsense. He said teachers had few options open to them students misbehaved. "That's why I think there was an argument for the cane and strap, and I am not saying it was a compelling argument but it may well be that sometimes the only language kids understand is that kind of language. But when asked if he was calling for the return of the cane and strap he denied that he wanted to reintroduce corporal punishment. "No, I'm calling for strong discipline in our schools and I guess people can argue the toss about exactly how that might be imposed. Mr Abbott, who said he received the strap at the Jesuit school that he attended, said he did not want to be too precriptive. "But I do know that a lot of people think that sometimes you've got to be able to give a short, sharp shock to people, that's what corporal punishment was about as I seem to recall it," Educators seemed to put more stress on "understanding the kids and reasoning with them". "That's all good but in the end there has got to be authority, there's got to be rules, people have got to know the consequences if the rules are broken," he said. "And I wonder just how strong a lot of our teachers and our schools are on this." State School Teachers Union president Mike Keely said that schools were totally different from when Mr Abbott was a boy.

Basically, this means that there are people debating on whether to inforce having the cane in schools or not. I bet if you ask most students (including me!) we will say NO to reintroducing the cane. I guess the question here is "To cane or not to cane?" Let's hope the result is no cane ever again...

Do you think the cane should be brought back to school or stay in the closet for the next 1000 years? Comment me!
